FAQ's About Being a Consultant
1) What does a 30
Day Gourmet consultant do?
That's a question with lots of great answers!
Just know first off that our consultant program
is very "laid back". There are no mandatory
meetings, no monthly sales requirements and
(unfortunately) no pink Cadillacs to win. 30 Day
Gourmet consultants simply share their cooking
experiences with other people in a variety of
ways and make a profit from selling our
products. Many of our consultants have been very
successful teaching community ed classes. Others
teach primarily to women's groups or moms'
groups. Some do actual cooking sessions where
students pay a flat fee and take home several
meals (along with a cookbook). We just try to
encourage you to do what works for you and then
help you along in the process.
2)
How much money could I make?
If you teach a seminar with 25 attendees, you
will probably sell at least $300 in
merchandise which could earn you $135-$150.
Not bad for a few hours spent talking about
your favorite subject:)
3)
What if I have a problem or need support?
Simply email us at:
office@30daygourmet.com and we'll gladly help.
We are also developing a section of our
website for consultants only which will
contain lots of info. Our message boards
contain a password protected section for our
consultants where they share ideas and
resources.
4)
I only want to use the kit once. Is this ok?
Yes. There are no minimum sales or seminar
requirements for our consultants. If you only
plan to use the kit once, though, you might
consider purchasing our Cook’s Party Package
which includes 10 manuals and an apron for $149.95.
5)
If I already have a binder or spiral bound
version, do I still need to buy a kit?
Yes, we recommend you are up to date with the
latest manuals. It is important to show what
you are selling. You may sell the books and
aprons once your seminar or event is over if
you like.
6)
Can I attend trade shows or conventions?
Yes, these are great ways to get the word out
about your business. They usually involve a
booth fee, which you would be responsible for.
7)
Can I teach a seminar and
then take orders?
Yes, but if you take orders, it is your
responsibility to deliver them. If this is a
problem you can purchase items in advance and
make them readily available.
8)
Do I need to charge sales
tax?
When selling merchandise in your own state you
are required to collect state sales tax and
send that tax money to your state's Department
of Revenue each month or each quarter. It's an
easy form to fill out. To receive the forms,
just call your Dept. of Revenue.
9)
Can I pass the discount/commission on to others?
That is up to you. Some consultants prefer to
charge the retail price and give the profits
to their organizations or to their friends.
10)
My friend wants to host a party with me as the
consultant. What can I do for her?
You could purchase a small hostess gift for
her, remembering she is helping you expand
your business. You could also buy her a manual
or apron (you get a great discount!)
11)
Am I allowed to charge an admission or class
fee?
Yes, you are free to charge an admission fee
whenever you wish. There may be times when you
might choose to rent a facility or meeting
room and may need to charge admission to cover
those costs. 30 Day Gourmet has been well
received at community education classes also.
In is case, the class fee usually includes a
Freezer Cooking Manual.
12)
Do I get credit
for purchases made directly to the 30 Day
Gourmet website as a result of my party/seminar?
We are working on offering this incentive for
our consultants. The 30 Day Gourmet website
will soon have a consultant section where each
consultant will have her own webpage. When
your customers link to our shopping cart from
your homepage you will receive a portion of
the sale.
13)
Do I get credit for signing up other
consultants?
No, we don't work with uplinks and advisors.
You are responsible for yourself. Maybe we'll
try to "build the pyramid" at a later date.
14)
Is this idea working for others?
We get feedback daily from women who are being
asked to teach classes and seminars about 30
Day Gourmet cooking. This is a topic of great
interest!! Here's what Paula from Minnesota
had to say recently: "I've taught the 30 Day
Gourmet class through our community education
for a year now, and have had a wonderful
response of enrollment in the class, and
positive feedback about the cooking manual. I
love the worksheets and layout of the recipes,
and the access to additional recipes at their
website. Nanci has been a real help to me when
I place my orders for books as well! I always
sell a few books outside of my classes when I
end up telling friends about the cooking
method that I do- someone is always interested
in organizing this area of their life. Thanks,
Tara and Nanci for putting this manual
together!"
